The story:
I was quite impressed with Amy Winehouse for choosing a literary genius over mind-destroying drugs, and agreed with her that this discrepancy was basis enough for ending the relationship... Then I got confused by the endless stories of her in the tabloids off her face on methadone. And was sorely disappointed at her hypocrisy.

I wondered why she would say that also, by the time I heard this song, I was already well aware of her penchant for blow, puff, smack, crack, uppers, downers, overs, unders, etc., and was very, very confused by this.
