The story:
Actually, my then-boyfriend (now husband) was newly arrived from Guatemala and we were on our second or third date. He was anxious to show me how well his English was coming along and the song Venus by Bananarama came on the radio. He decided to serenade me in his heartiest voice and when the chorus came, I heard him sing with great gusto:
