The story:

Back in high school, when the song came out. My friend who's locker was near mine was singing it, and I was like "Oh! That song is so catchy!" and proceeded to sing with her as we walked to class. She obviously laughed hysterically when she heard what I was singing, and corrected me. And when they would play the song at dances, we would sing MY lyrics.
