About fifteen minutes ago, I was listening to
the song again and deduced that "affable" was
being used only in the first verse. Decided to
get online to find the real lyrics. I was utterly
crushed! No way! I've been singing it this way
for...what?...twenty-something years? And the
main reason I've
always admired this song is that it was the
only one I'd ever heard that actually managed
to use the word 'affable"!
