The story:

I thought he was saying that he agreed with Chris LeDoux (who, in my defense, does sing lonely cowboy songs), that lonely women and bad booze were all a cowboy had left. I heard it on the radio and went "well that makes WAY more sense, now doesn't it!!" sometimes you're singing it the way you 'know' it is, over top of what it really is, so you don't hear the real thing!
