The story:

I had a hard time understanding the lyrics to most of this song. I could catch bits about hippies and hypocrites, and something about the dangers of crack. Smash Mouth was hip, carefree band with fun, danceable music, so it just seemed typical to me that they would be singing about the joy of drugs. My husband stopped to correct me while I was belting it out in the car.
