You make me feel like a catch of a woman

The story:

English is not my native language, but still I felt there must be something wrong here.. on the other hand.. "a hell of a guy" is good english too.. and I really could not get what she was singing there.. Once, singing it aloud, I made a few friends laugh their heads off.. I had to wait some time before they were able to tell me the right lyrics. I still feel I was not all that wrong!
