I was in high school when this song came out, and I was telling a bunch of classmates how shocking and funny it was that they'd use the word "coolie" in a song. "Coolie" is an Americanized version of the Italian word "culo" -- butt -- which was commonly used in my Italian-American neighborhood. After they stopped laughing, I never heard the end of it, even at the reunion 25 years later.
