The story:

I was only 5 when my mom gave me a record with just that song on it. I sang it like that until I was at a football game my senior year of high school. The whole crowd was singing it during a game. When I sang that part, everyone around me turned and looked at me. I kept singing because I thought they had it wrong. I looked up the words on the internet later and realized I was wrong!
