Here's a scenario of mine: Elvis Presley does not go for the Army in 1958, due to the sudden rise of Engelbert Humperdinck to superstardom in the second half of 1957! A lengthy string of Top 5 hits (including a handful of #1s) for Engelbert establishes him as Elvis's principal rival. If Elvis were to join the armed forces after THAT, the death of American rock and roll would obviously be inevitable, as Engelbert leans heavily towards traditional pop, in contrast to Elvis's upbeat rock and roll. Engelbert would surpass Elvis in popularity, turning history as we know it on its ear. So, Elvis must not join the Army with Engelbert on his tail! Now, both Elvis Presley and Engelbert Humperdinck are alive and well. Call me crazy, insane or anything else you want to call me. It may make me a little angry, but my dream will continue to survive!

Really? I'm into space travel myself! Why me? The reason is because I want go back in time and prevent Elvis's untimely 1977 death (among other things), if he really is dead. Elvis could have made a lot of good music after 1977. Even before that year, too. (Elvis didn't have to join the US Army; and he could have stayed focused on his musical career; then he could have become more rebellious in his music and invented the classic rock genre, instead of mellowing out after his return in 1960.) A little more to come...
