It was at a friend's 80s theme party. There was a karaoke machine and a group of us got up to do Manic Monday. In my defence, I knew the Sacha Distel bit couldn't possibly be right, but I'd never got around to querying who or what was being kidnapped by whatserface Hoffs's mother. I was conviced the kidnap bit was right though.
I've never convinced anyone my version is right, but all my friends now sing my version whenever it comes on the juke box in the pub!
