Well I always knew the real lyrics were "angel fingers", because that's the title of the song. But it really does sound like Roy Wood is singing "anal fingers"! He had this thing called the "Birmingham Mix", where the vocals were mixed at the same volume as the other instruments, instead of slightly louder as is normal. This results in a lot of tracks by The Move [Roy's previous band) and Wizzard having plenty of potential for misheard lyrics.

The last time I checked, the profanity filter on this site didn't let me have words like "assume" or "class" because of the hidden "ass". What would it make of the Wizzard song title, "I Wi** ** could be Christmas every day" ?
