I think this song came out when I was about 11. I don't know if it is the "dip your foot in the pool" reference, but for some reason I took this to be a song about the OCEAN. In fact, I continued to sing this song into my early thirties, imagining myself on a beautiful beach somewhere where everyone wanted me. It was a DJ on the radio that set me straight!
