We were at an Irish pub and there was a band playing. They were quite good. At a given point they started playing Van Morrison’s song, and when they got to the chorus I went “Brand-new girl, sha-la-la…” My friends thought I was mocking the song on purpose, so they joined in merrily, but when later on I learned what the original lyrics said I was so embarrassed... Still, my friends claim that “my” version is funnier and gives a whole new meaning to the song…
