The Story: Don't eat the fruit in the garden, Eden,, It wasn't in God's natural plan., You were only a rib,, And look at what you did,, To Adam, the father of Man.
The Story: You smell like goat, I'll see you in hell
Well, Little Women (the movie) almost damn near killed me. Thought this was a plausible lyric! But how wrong I was...

+Kyladanielle: I think you're the one that's mistaken, since everywhere I see online, it's "'cause livin' with me must have damn near killed you". Someone correct me if I truly am mistaken. In the meantime, I'll do some more research on the matter...

Me and my dad always argued over whether it was "It musta been so bad, Slim Whitman must have damn near killed you" or "When I went, it must have damn near killed you." XD Hey, Slim Whitman DID kill all those aliens in 'Mars Attacks'...

you're not alone in thinking this. My friends and I sang that for months before we learnt the proper lyrics

I really thought that is what it said as well. I was like this doesn't make sense, but what the hell I grew up in the 90's.

It's a good thing I don't like this song, because I would have sung it... exactly like that... at the top of my lungs... at MANY parties.

Even your "correct lyrics" are wrong...lmao It's not like you didn't know that I said I love you and I swear I still do And it must have been so bad 'Cos living with him must have Damn near killed you

I actually pictured tiny women with axes and stuff. Great stuff, very funny!

It's a sad book... Actually, I can't laugh - I could have sworn that was the actual line!
mr_ben Jun 03, 2008 8:23 pm

Actually, I've seen both "with him" and "with me" in my further research. I'm still not convinced, as I'm leaning towards "with me", but I don't know for sure. Can a hardcore Nickelback fan please come and verify which one is right? (Please provide an external link to a scanned image of the original lyric, or something like that.)
