Even though it sounded like he was singing about a girl named Deedle, the more I heard the song the more I sensed that couldn't be right, since I never encountered Deedle as a girl's name anywhere else. So I googled the lyrics one day. But it still sounds more like "Deedle" than "didn't" to me.
