I,m 42 and I was teaching a 21 yr old coworker how to play this song on the guitar. When I sang the lyric the way I had been hearing it for the last...oh what 20 years..he just smirked and said, what did you just say? I argued the point. I said listen to it very carefully. The printed lyrics convinced me. Still think I'm right though.
