The story:

As an avid teenage Boyzone fan in the mid-nineties, my friends and I would sit on our school field at lunchtime listening to their tapes. Once we were singing (and you'd have to a have a pretty good knowledge of an Aussie soap opera to understand this) when I pondered out loud: 'Why do they sing about that principal from Neighbours in their song? Do you think they watch it?'. Stunned silence was followed by hysterical laughing, and I learnt the less interesting version of the lyrics.

By the way, Anne Teschendorf was principal in the show between 1994-1995.
