I thought it meant that the girl had a reputation that preceded her. The new boys weren't surprised because they'd heard about her. lol At least no one else knows the lyrics either. I have no idea how many times I've sung these wrong lyrics in public, but my face is bright red right now thinking about it.
It sorta makes sense though...
