funk soap rubber

The story:

I had never heard this song before. I don't listen
to the artist, I don't listen to this song. Still. My
friend from Pennsylvania was visiting me in Texas,
and we went to a nearby fair while she was visiting.
We were in line for this one ride, just about to get
on, when I actually started hearing the song that
they were playing over the ride's speaker. (It was
one of the only rides to have real audible clear
music playing.) I listened for a moment and heard
what I thought was 'funk soul brother' being
repeated over and over. I listened more carefully,
and still heard 'funk soap rubber'. I asked my
friend and my sister if they heard the same thing.
They just stared at me, and started laughing. My
friend told me she was pretty sure it was 'funk
soul brother'. I shook my head and told her I knew
what I was hearing, which was 'funk soap rubber'.
I gestured to my mom, who was standing a ways
from the end of the line, waiting for us. She was
out of earshot, but could see me gesturing wildly. I
started singing 'funk soap rubber' loudly as I got
on the ride, and the song continued. The other
people in the car with us just stared at me, and my
friend laughed the whole time. Turns out I was
wrong, but I like mine better anyway.
