Give you hope and be your only golf swing

The story:

At the top is another misheard lyric from the same
song, "Soul Man", where I got "I was so vain". I
eventually figured out the original on my own, but
it can sound like the above. Imagine if you can get
a hole in one on every hole in a single golf
tournament! You'd have a larger-than life score
under par, and not even Tiger Woods accomplished
that, and he almost certainly never will. But he's
only human, and who knows about what has happened
in this great big universe...
