Early 1992 (when this song was a worldwide hit), I thought Nirvana really saw themselves as "entertainers", which made my interpretation obvious...
...until I saw Baz Luhrmann's "Moulin Rouge!" (which contains a resung portion of the Nirvana hit) September 2001 and realized that the Dutch subtitles did not match my version!
