I was watching of all things a show on MTV that would scroll the lyrics along the bottom of the screen during that music video. It was one nite, had to be after nine at nite, when I read for the first time the real lyrics. I give thanks that no one heard me singing them wrong for all those years before. After that moment I swore to never mock anyone that heard "Cannon Ball" in a Van Halen song.
