The Story: Don't eat the fruit in the garden, Eden,, It wasn't in God's natural plan., You were only a rib,, And look at what you did,, To Adam, the father of Man.
The Story: You smell like goat, I'll see you in hell
I‘m 42 years old and I bet it’s not too much of an exaggeration to say that I have heard Stairway a million times in my life (so far…). I never was a Zeppelin fanatic; but at the same time, I can never remember a time when I didn’t like this particular song. I never really worried too much about the lyrics, but as a kid this lyric always perplexed me. I came to the conclusion that “Bake Queen” was a drug reference. I thought there had to be an association between “baking powder” and perhaps powder cocaine or angel dust, and that the lyric meant something like, “if you’re tripping, just enjoy it.” Worked for me.
A couple of years ago I finally, for the first time ever, looked up the lyrics on the Internet. I guess I wasn’t so surprised that I’d gotten them wrong, but I kind of liked mine more…
