Actually, it happened when my little brother heard the song for the first time. He frowned, blinked at me across the table (we were at a restaurant) and asked why this fellow was telling us he was a girl. The rest of us broke out laughing; my father, who apparently has a rather low opinion of this artist, still maintains that Elton John singing something like that is only to be expected.
