Actually it was my mother who misheard these lyrics. Some time in the 1980's as our little family drove our mini minor through the night on our way out somewhere, my brother and I groovin in the back seat to UB40 on the radio. When suddenly our 'unco' mother pipes up with the question: "What's he saying? I'm a green banana?!"
