    The story:

I was on a date with a guy in a punk rock band the first time I heard this song. Over the course of our relationship (we are now married), I tried to figure out what the lead singer, Glen Danzig, was saying without asking my husband. Needless to say, the guy doesn't like to enunciate. So one day I decided to sing my version loudly over the top of the car radio to see what my husband would say. Sure, I thought it was odd that a punk band would like consomme enough to put it in a song, but no other words seemed to fit in that space, and I figured the Ayatollah reference counteracted the wussy soup reference. Plus after hearing a lot of punk music it would be hard to shock me with randomness of lyrics. My husband laughed for five minutes, while he replayed the song over and over to hear my lyrics again. When he told me the real words, he conceded that my version is indeed more creative than the original. He sings my version now, but since in the style of Glen Danzig he refuses to actually pronounce words, you'd be hard pressed to figure it out.
