I was singing it one day within earshot of a friend who suddenly started laughing. I had trouble accepting the fact that David Crosby would enunciate the word "police" with the accent on the first syllable...PO-lice car. We dug out the vinyl and he proved me wrong. Still, my friend did admit that my version made better sense, Crosby looking into his mirror and seeing a falling star (as in rock star). I still sing it my way.
