Last night I held a lettuce lamp

The story:

I think it was when I was in a store that sold light fixtures. They had a very large selection, including a glass desk lamp that looked like a head of lettuce. I said to my friend, "Look, it's the lamp from that song..." She didn't know what I was talking about until I sang it for her. She about died laughing and explained the actual lyric. Boy did I feel stupid.
