I had actually heard it as "lay me down and she's a lemon" at age 13....my mom did too (but that's already on your site). When I was in my 20's I realized how glaringly obvious the real lyrics were. I just played the song for my 9-year-old son last night, and he immediately starting singing about cheese and lemons! I guess it runs in the family....
