The story:

I missed this song for years and heard it again as soundtrack music for the movie "Snatch". After a week or so, I asked a group of friends if they knew the song and I started humming it. One other person in the group remembered it and we started piecing the first verse together to sing it to the others. We agreed mostly until we got to this line, and he insisted it was about laughing and enjoying M*A*S*H re-runs after the show was canceled. I fought hard against him, until we finally had to look up the lyrics online to settle the argument.
