The story:

I was afraid to listen to that song for years unless I was alone because I didn't want to slip and sing that part in front of anybody. I would have swore on my life at the time that those were the lyrics. I finally found out what the actual lyrics were when my sister bought the greatest hits album which had the lyrics to the songs on it. Boy did I feel stupid.
