Actually, it was my cousin's "mondegreen". She was 21 years old. We were driving in her 68 Ford Mustang singing along with the radio when this song came on. I couldn't believe what I was hearing her say. I laughed so hard I could hardly tell her why she was wrong. When she finally believed me, her response was, "I always wondered why they were singing about a belly dancer." My cousin died a year later in an accident. This is a treasured memory for me, always makes me laugh.
