The story:

I got into an argument about this with a friend. I thought it was more complicated, about dealing with loss/abandonment but also with inheritance, or with some stored up money the dad was planning on lending them. I guess I thought it was weird that he was only lending them money, what's he gonna do with it when they pay him back? he's dead!
