I was singing along in the car. My sister looked at me strangely and said "What are you saying?"
"Reach out in the dark house. "You nut, it's reach out in the darkness!" "No it isn't!" etc.
I had a strong mental image of an amusement park dark house and thought the song was using it as a metaphor for a crazy, scary world--which is close, I guess, but less colorful than my metaphor.
