A friend of mine (also misunderstood the lyrics) was a big fan, and he used to do what the song said (reaching out his hand and touching his face) I copyed him in that. Years later I was riding my car and hearing the Johnny Cash version and did the same untill my wife next to me bursts out in tears (of laughter) and explains what she heard, and was right.
