For about 35 years I've thought it was "electric boobs," and wondered how so many DJ's snuck it past the naughty-word police back in the '70s. I didn't learn the right words till after seeing "27 Dresses," so I guess I missed the joke, but now I know why the hero laughed when she sang it that way. Well, come on, it does make sense, doesn't it? A lot of those girl-group divas were really stacked, they wore low-cut, skin-tight evening gowns, usually with glittery sequins, and the effect on hormonal young men was, well, electric. I always pictured Bennie as a young Diana Ross, sparkling up the stage, and pouring on the sensuality like syrup on pancakes. Well, now I guess I have to imagine her wearing flashing footwear instead. Bummer.
