While at a live show, Kevin Griffin explained that this song was inspired by actual events. Each time I sang this song after that, I was horrified to think they had shot at someone! Finally, so distraught, I rushed to the webpage to confirm the lyrics and was hugely embarrased to think that they might actually have tried to shoot someone!
