When I was about 11, and playing in a string quartet, I received the sheet music for Michelle and had a total AHA moment. I had started taking French lessons, too and realized that they were just pronouncing the words with very English accents.
Also, it's not as if the Beatles always had straight-forward non-weird lyrics ("I am the walrus, koo-koo-ka-choo").
However, I've never stopped singing my version. I'm rather fond of it.
