I first heard this at a sleepaway camp, and given that I had never heard it before and I was hearing it sung by camp staff and campers, I had to wonder why those stickers at the bank (the FDIC declarations) were so important we had to make a song about them.
It wasn't until later in grade school music class that the lyrics were actually written down.
