My moment of revelation was not that embarrassing because it occurred around a friend of mine who misheard it the exact same way. What's more, she told me of an even funnier lyric she misheard: Macy Gray's "I Try." She understood the line "My world crumbles when you are not there" as "I blow bubbles when you are not there."
