That old BOOG POWELL moon . . . etc

    Artist: Andy Williams
Real Lyric: That old Bilbao moon, I won't forget it soon . . .

    The story:

, I first heard the song around 1964 or so (I think it came out in
1961) and I thought, "it CAN'T be "Boog Powell, that's just too
weird, it doesn't make sense; but it sure didn't sound like
anything else I could think of, so I went with it.
(I don't know if I had EVER heard of the town in school or
elsewhere, but if I had, I'd certainly forgotten about it.)
For years I'd, on occasion, ask people about it, but, probably due
to my not being able to carry a tune, nobody ever figured out
what the song was when I "sang" it to them with my lyrics, and
asked them if they knew the song, and if so, what were the
    correct lyrics.
I probably would have never would have figured it out were it
    not for Google.
(By the way, the song IS on some "misheard lyrics" lists, but it's
always as "That old BILL BAILEY" moon", which is wrong, but
IMHO, not creatively nutso-bizarre like my "version".)

    Re: the 3 questions below...
1 Not "better" maybe, but certainly creative.
    2. I never entirely convinced myself.
    3. Define "interesting". ; )
Note: For the era in which he played, Boog Powell was a relatively
large man. I believe it is due to this fact alone, that there is no
record of anyone ever having attempted to change his nickname
    to "booger".
