I thought this was how it went for YEARS, which is particularly embarrassing because Janet and Michael were my absolute favorite singers when I was young. I realized I was wrong when I heard Janet singing it at the MTV 2009 VMAs and it didn't sound at all like my version. But it makes perfect sense in context of the song!
