The xylophone, it injured my kazoo.

    Artist: Four Seasons
Real Lyric: Smack my b***h up,Smack my b***h up

    The story:

My husband and I were eating dinner in Las Vegas. There was music in the background and the song came on. When it came to those lyrics, I asked my husband what he thought they were, and he told me the real words. I finally stopped laughing long enough to tell him what I thought they were for the last 30 years. Then he told me his favorite misheard lyric ("Rhythm Tootsia", or "Driven to Tears" by The Police). I just about fell on the floor laughing.

Let me close by saying that I feel validated that someone else heard "xylophone"!! See? I'm not the only one!

Hey, I get it now. The "real" lyric above is inappropriate for this song, but "The xylophone, it injured my kazoo" is misheard for "As I recall, it ended much too soon", which is a lyric in the song.

Are you sure you're talking about the right song? I seriously doubt The Four Seasons would be singing a lyric with that B word in it!
