The story:

Seriously, I thought the song was a little spaced out. Since it was named Space Oddity, figured he was singing about some futuristic "head" that was doing space travel. I had read the Dune series about that time, but I'm not using that as an excuse. LOL. 30 years later, I find out it is Major Tom which makes much better sense, but, not nearly as much fun to sing as Major Tongue. : )))
