This is the last time / that our Mercedes worked

The story:

I first heard this song on our local college radio station right after I
had gotten another three thousand dollar invoice for work on my
1979 Mercedes (anyone who owns one of these knows to cringe at
the words 'electrical issue'), so it made perfect sense. I just figured
the lyricist was among the many owners of ancient Benzes who are
used to carbon monoxide coming through the air conditioning
vents.
