This song was popular when I was a little kid. I didn't know what desire meant, but I'd seen enough Disney movies where the king was addressed as sire to know what THAT meant, so that's what it sounded like to me. As far as why "Venus" would want the king to throw her... well, I have no idea. My sister thought these were the words too.
