It made sense. Time everlasting. Eternal judgement. Unfairly consigned to Heaven or Hell. Asserting your independent blooody-mindedness by showing two emphatic "eff-you!" fingers to the people in charge. (Well... they're American. Who only use one finger).
OK then. It's Eternity. You get to spend Hell or Purgatory by being forced to listen to all the crap B-sides of the singles you bought, and to realise WHY the not-very-good song ends up on the backside of the chart hit. The official lyric works too.
