Years back, Deep Purple was interviewed & mentioned the lyrics. Ohhh, yeah, that makes sense! I realized. Didn't think twice about a lazy neon shoreline. Perhaps the vision of streetlights (or moonlight)on a peaceful lake after dark seemed logical. Also, so many pop songs had nonsensical verses, my version sounded probable.
