The Story: Don't eat the fruit in the garden, Eden,, It wasn't in God's natural plan., You were only a rib,, And look at what you did,, To Adam, the father of Man.
The Story: You smell like goat, I'll see you in hell
I flipped open a magazine one day and saw the lyrics to this song staring me in the face. At first I just kind of looked it over and was about to turn the page, when suddenly my eyes stopped on those two lines. My heart skipped. My first thought was, "I hope I haven't been singing that part too loudly in front of other people!" And it all made sense: the confused looks, the incessant laughing at nothing in particular.
I knew it at once. I was a nerd.

I listened to this repeatedly and read the correct lyrics but I swear he is saying when you look in the mirror say hi to your shoes!

Given the way it's pronounced in the song, I thought this highly plausible. Who knew? Could have been a metaphor for seeing something old again as if it were new. The worst thing about me is that if I sing the wrong lyrics, I always have a reason to justify why it COULD be my way. :)

well now I feel like an idiot. I come to this site to laugh at other people's dumb mistakes and realize I've made this exact mistake. It HAS to be our way. I'm going to listen to it now lo

When I was young and buying the NOW! CDs, I thought it was that, too. Then I listened to it again (at age 19) and nearly died laughing at my mistake. But you absolutely must say hi to your shoes. I mean, they might feel left out if you don't.

Been there. Done that. Still makes me wonder if those aren't the REAL lyrics.
